About Me

Hi! I'm Daniel Odetoye, a Computer Science student at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a passion for innovation and a strong eagerness to learn. I am driven and adaptable, committed to viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Through programs like Amazon Next, CodePath, MLT Ascend, and the QUEST Honors Program, I have honed my technical skills and laid a solid foundation for my career as a software engineer.

Beyond my technical pursuits, I am a state basketball champion, a photographer, and the founder of ThroughDanLens, my own photography business. I blend my expertise in UX and graphic design with programming to create user-friendly, visually compelling solutions. Currently, I’m actively seeking software engineering internship opportunities to further advance my journey in tech.

AmazonNext x CodePath, Technical-Interview Prep Arlington, VA, Summer 2024: Participated in the AmazonNext CodePath interview preparation course to enhance technical skills and interview readiness, with hands-on practice sessions, mock interviews, and work environment readiness activities.

Management Leadership for Tomorrow, Ascend Program Scholar: Selected for an 11-month development program for first-generation college students, enhancing leadership skills and expanding professional network through targeted events and personalized coaching.

JP Morgan Chase, Code for Good Participant:Selected as one of 70 participants from over 10,000 applicants, I gained hands-on experience in Agile methodologies and the full software development lifecycle while developing solutions for nonprofit challenges during a 24-hour hackathon.

Webacy Externship: Participated in an immersive externship focusing on Web 3.0 digital security, analyzing user behavior and security vulnerabilities in blockchain technologies, conducting competitive analysis of emerging startups in the Web3 security space, and developing strategic recommendations for blockchain technology exploration.

Developed a responsive photography portfolio website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, delivering a user-friendly experience across desktop and mobile platforms, which boosted client engagement and increased bookings by 50%. Integrated an AWS RDS database with Node.js to support a dynamic booking system, allowing clients to schedule sessions with real-time data, streamlined management, and automated notifications. The intuitive UI, complete with automated email alerts for bookings, enhances client interactions and simplifies project management for real-world use.

Landing Pages

Developed a responsive portfolio website with fast load times and optimized user experience across mobile and desktop devices, incorporating animations and modern design techniques to create a visually appealing platform that highlights skills, projects, and experience. Designed with a focus on enhancing recruiter engagement through easy navigation and clear presentation of relevant content.

Code for Good Hackathon|React, Firebase FastAPI|

Led the development of UI pages for the Admin, Students, and Tutoring sections, creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Assisted in integrating the front end with the back end using React and Firebase FastAPI to enable real-time data communication between components. Collaborated with the team to streamline user management, tutoring session tracking, and data collection.
